iPhone 16 Pro Max was launched on 9 September at the Apple ‘It’s Glowtime’ event. It is Apple's flagship model for the remainder of 2024 and the majority of 2025. It is the largest iPhone model to date, measuring a whopping 6.9 inches. It also features the second-generation Apple 3nm chipset, offering significant improvements over the older iPhone 15 Pro in terms of enhanced Neural Processing and power efficiency. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, above all, focuses on Apple Intelligence AI features, setting it apart from earlier models.

iPhone 16 Pro Max Price in India, Colours
The iPhone 16 Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,44,900 for the base 256GB storage option. For the 512GB and 1TB variants, the prices are Rs 1,64,900 and Rs 1,84,900, respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available for pre-order from 13 September at 5:30 PM IST in India and will officially launch on 20 September. Colour options include a new Desert Titanium, along with returning choices of Natural Titanium, Black Titanium, and White Titanium.

iPhone 16 Pro Max Display
The iPhone 16 Pro Max features a new, massive 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display, the largest ever seen on an iPhone, with OLED technology and Apple ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate. This allows for a peak brightness of 2000 nits outdoors and a pixel density of 460 pixels per inch with a 2868x1320-pixel resolution. Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has a 6.7-inch panel, this represents a significant upgrade.

iPhone 16 Pro Performance and Battery
The iPhone 16 Pro is equipped with the A18 Pro chipset, providing approximately 15% better CPU and 20% better GPU performance compared to the A17 Pro found in the iPhone 15 Pro. Additionally, it offers twice the ray tracing performance in games. The A18 Pro is joined by the A18 (found in the standard iPhone 16 models) in the new lineup, with both being Apple’s second-generation 3nm chipsets.

Regarding battery life, although Apple has not disclosed the official capacity, it claims that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is rated for 33 hours of video playback, which is 4 hours more compared to the previous iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is good news for Apple fans, as it likely results from a larger capacity battery and the efficient A18 Pro chipset.

Apple has introduced a new 48MP ultra-wide shooter with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, allowing for more detailed landscape shots. It continues with the 5x 120mm tetraprism telephoto camera and a 48MP wide shooter. However, this year, Apple has further enhanced video capabilities by adding the ability to record 4K video at 120fps. This means you can slow down your footage in post-production without losing resolution, unlike the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which limited 120fps capture to 1080p video or 4K at 60fps. The front camera features a 12MP sensor that supports 4K video recording and Apple ProRes Log for professional-grade selfies and video content.

To enhance the photography experience further, Apple has introduced a new ‘Camera Control’ system. This system captures Apple's aim to bridge the gap between professional SLR and mirrorless cameras, and mobile devices. According to Apple, it features a tactile switch that delivers a satisfying "click experience." Moreover, it incorporates a force sensor that enables light presses and a capacitive touch area that facilitates touch interactions, such as zooming. Notably, Apple claims that the Camera Control allows you to adjust creative parameters like zoom, exposure, and depth of field by simply sliding your finger across it.
